Stretch Tracker is a fitness and ergonomics application with no monthly subscription or hidden fees. It sets itself apart from other fitness apps you may have used before by utilizing your device's camera video and computer vision technology to estimate posture, movement, muscle stretch, joint strain, and calorie expenditure. Discover how Stretch Tracker assesses your muscle stretch and joint strain in real-time without the need to upload videos or undergo secondary processing.
Instructions:
- Mount your iPhone/iPad on a stand on the floor to capture your entire body.
- Access the settings page by tapping on the ring of circles.
- Input your body weight, height, and exercise duration in the settings.
- Utilize the front camera to evaluate muscle stretch and joint strain during exercise.
- Employ the back camera to analyze exercise data from recorded videos or images played on your TV or PC, or for real-time monitoring of others' exercises.
- Keep the angle threshold values unchanged.
- Press play and move your arms to allow the pose estimation model to predict body joint positions.
Body Pose Estimation:
Stretch Tracker employs the iOS 14 pose estimation model to provide real-time estimates of 19 joint positions, including wrists, elbows, shoulders, neck, hips, knees, ankles, ears, eyes, and nose.
Real-Time Joint Strain & Muscle Stretch:
The dynamics of motion are calculated based on relative distances, angles between joints, positions, speed, and calories burned. Muscle stretch is indicated by a color gradient from blue to red (representing low to high stretch in feet or centimeters), while joint strain is depicted by a color spectrum from blue to red showing joint angles relative to threshold levels. Users can adjust threshold angle values for shoulders, elbows, back, and knees in the settings. Joint colors and muscle line colors serve different purposes and may not always match; red joint color signifies bending beyond a threshold level, while muscle line color represents joint movement degree—a measure of exercise intensity and calorie expenditure.
Action Recognition:
Seven actions are identified—standing, sitting, hand stretching, squatting, lunging, and bending—based on joint positions and exercise types. Action recognition occurs in real-time according to current joint positions; changes in position result in different recognized actions.
Strain & Stretch Analysis Pie Chart View:
Two pie charts display real-time data on joint strain and muscle stretch. The muscle stretch chart shows movements of hand, leg, and abdominal muscles (in feet or centimeters) in green, yellow, and red segments. The joint strain chart presents shoulder, elbow, back, and knee strain times in seconds using orange, teal, purple, and pink segments.
Calorie Estimation & Time:
Calories are estimated based on the relative displacement of muscle segments and their weights. Instantaneous calorie estimation is shown in the menu bar between the two pie charts. The time settings can be adjusted from the settings page in seconds.
Track Your Fitness:
A detailed fitness summary is saved in a tabular format for monitoring exercises over different periods. The table includes date, time, exercise type, calories burned, abdominal muscle flexion (abdominal stretch) in feet or centimeters, and the most strained joint during each exercise session—reflecting the most frequent exercise type and joint strain values within that timeframe (which may differ from current values).
